Q. What is a cock ring and what’s it supposed to do?

A. As the name implies, a cockring is a hoop made of metal, leather, or rubber, that encircles the base of the penis and/or the scrotum. Once you have an erection, a cockring is used to restrict blood flow out of the penis, helping to control both erection and ejaculation. It also creates sensations of tightness and pressure that heighten sensitivity and the intensity of an orgasm. Oh yeah, one other thing: it looks and feels hot as hell!

Q. Who uses them?

A. Their design is uniquely male, but that’s the only limitation. Gear Essentials cockrings are deeply rooted in their physical context and the emotional needs of the people who use them. They are an indispensable tool for anyone seeking greater confidence, satisfaction, intensity, control, pleasure, and erotic intimacy.

Q. How do I put one on?

A. Cockrings are usually worn at the base of the penis, behind the scrotum, although some men wear them around the shaft of the penis only. It’s easiest to put on a cockring when the penis is not fully erect. Start by tucking your testicles (one at a time) through the ring, then fold your penis down, insert the tip of it under the ring and, while holding onto the tip, pull the ring up towards your body. Then, simply adjust it to make sure it fits comfortably and wait for the magic! (To remove the ring, push your soft penis back through the ring and ‘untuck’ your testicles.)

Q. How do I know what size to get?

A. Fit is extremely important! Too small a ring, and you'll never get it on. Too large, and it won't hug tight enough to work. Please refer to ‘The Measure of a Man’ section of this website to learn how to guarantee a perfect fit. More Info about cockring.

Q. Can I hurt myself?

A. With a little common sense, you should be able to use our cockrings without any injury. The most important advice is to make sure it’’s not too tight and that you remove it immediately if you feel any discomfort. Take your time putting it on and taking it off using a small amount of lubrication eases the process (and adds to the stimulation!).

Do not use cockrings if you bleed easily or have a blood clotting disorder, if you are diabetic, or if you suffer from any peripheral vascular or nerve disease. Do not use these products if you are taking anticoagulants, aspirin, or any other blood-thinning medication. In the event use causes discomfort or any unusual body changes -- including bruising, pain, bleeding or loss of sensation -- discontinue use immediately and check with a sex-positive physician. Q. The measure of a man

How to Wear A Cock Ring
To fit properly, a cockring should be loose enough to get on and off easily, but a bit snug to work its magic once the blood starts pumping. To calculate the minimum size of a cockring, cut a strip of paper or ribbon no wider than 1/4 inch. Starting from the top of your penis at the base (where it meets your body), wrap the paper under your scrotum, bringing it around to the starting point. Mark the paper where it meets. Measure that length, then divide by three. The correct diameter of the cockring you should order is approximately one-third of the length.

There are a great many options available to men when it comes to cockrings. Leather, rubber, plastic; all manner of shape and size, design and girth; accessorized and modified, amplified and customized. What is it that would make Gear Essentials' cockrings stand out above the rest?

Dress for Success, A Well Fitted Cockring
Now boys this is not the time to lie about dick size. Remember it’s not the meat it’s the motion. If you go to big it won’t work and it could be very embarrassing when it falls down your pant leg at that charity ball. Just tell people you wear a 2 1/8” ring. No one will know the truth.

It is just as important that the ring isn’t too tight once it is on. Blue balls just aren’t pretty. In all seriousness wearing a cockring that is to tight can lead to what is called priapism, an erection that does not go away. Now it may sound appealing to be hard and ready to go all the time but this condition can be serious and requires medical attention. If the erection does not go down shortly after intercourse try some cold water or ice on your penis (or think of your mother) to bring it down.

They are worn around the base of the penis behind the testicles. To put on the ring carefully push the balls through one at a time. Follow by coaxing the shaft through the ring. To fit properly, a cock ring should be loose enough to get on and off easily, but a bit snug to work its magic once the blood starts pumping.

Some men like the feel of a ring gently tugging at their balls and wear their rings all day but we suggest caution. It is not recommended that rings be worn for extended periods of time or during sleep when spontaneous erections can occur. It is important to remove the ring at the first sign of any pain or numbness of the testicles. If you are new to cockrings we recommend wearing it for no longer then 15-20 minutes.

A well fitted cockring can be great addition to your sexual play as long it is the correct size. It can add to the intensity by prolonging the orgasm.

To measure yourself for a cockring, take a string and slip it behind yours balls and tug it up around the top of your penis (where it meets your body). Mark the string on both sides where it comes together at a snugness that is comfortable for you. This measurement will give you your circumference, now take your circumference measurement and divide by pi (3.14.) This measurement will give you your diameter or ring size. It is recommended you do this a couple times to assure a proper measurement. Many adult stores have fitting rooms where a man can try out the proper size. We find that the most common sizes are 1 7/8” and 1 ¾”.
